A few days ago, a ceremony was convened at Sipailou Campus of Southeast University, where Professor Richard Penty, Dean of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University, was employed as a visiting professor. Wang Baoping, Executive Vice President of Southeast University, Party and government administrators, representatives of teachers and students of the School of Electronic Science and Engineering attended the event.

After the employment ceremony, Prof. Richard Penty delivered a lecture on the cutting-edge technology to the teachers and students present, titled the “Integrated High-port Optical Switch”.
Prof. Richard Penty is a internationally renowned expert in the field of photonics. He received his bachelor's and doctorate degrees from Cambridge University. In 2012, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Engineering and a Fellow of the British Society of Engineering and Technology. He is currently serving as Dean of Sidney Sussex College of Cambridge University, Professor of the Engineering Department and principal of the CUED Photonics Research Program.
