In the afternoon of December 8, the theme-based activity of “Practicing the Rejuvenation Road for A Brilliant Youth – 2018 Southeast University Sunshine Long-distance Running” and the “40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up” was convened at Jiulonghu Campus, Southeast University. Zheng Jiamao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, comrades from the President Office, the Department of the Student Affairs/Students under the Party Committee, the school’s CCYL Committee and the Sports Department as well as some vice secretaries of the Party Committee of partial departments attended the event. The event included the competition groups and the fitness groups. A total of 24 units involving nearly 10,000 teachers, students and alumni participated in the event.
As addressed by Deputy Secretary Zheng Jiamao in his speech, reform and opening up is a major historical turning point in contemporary China. Under the leadership of the Party, the Chinese society has undergone earth-shaking changes in the past four decades. He expected that all teachers and students should keep in mind the hardships, difficulties, risks and challenges of the reform. They shall not change their minds but make unremitting efforts to march forward in the journey of striving for a world-class university.
Upon fierce competition, the School of Transportation, the united schools (including the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the School of Software and the School of Cyberspace Security), and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering were ranked as top three groups. Wu Guanhe (the School of Transportation), Zhou Lei (the School of Mechanical Engineering), Luo Haowei (the School of Software); Zhang Jingyi (the School of Humanities), Qian Yuxuan (School of Humanities), Liu Weiyi (School of Transportation) were ranked as top three students in the male and females groups respectively. Zhao Qiyu (alumni), Yan Long (General Affairs Office), Mao Shenghua (Security Department), Xie Yiyi (alumni), Shen Rong (School of Transportation), Wu Mei (the library) were ranked as top three individuals in the teachers and alumni groups respectively.
