On March 16, Néstor Torres, consul general of the Republic of Cuba in Shanghai, visited Southeast University. Wan Baoping, vice president of Southeast University, met the consul general at SEU Jiu Long Hu campus. Directors of SEU International Cooperation Department and College of International Students attended the meeting.
During the meeting, vice president Wang Baoping extended a warm welcome to consul general Néstor Torres, and gave a brief introduction of SEU’s history and development. He pointed out that the in-depth cooperation and communication with universities in Cuba is significant for SEU’s construction of “Double First-rate” university, and he looked forward to the new cooperation between SEU and Cuban university. Consul general Néstor Torres expressed his thanks towards SEU’s warm reception. He had a brief introduction of education in Cuba, and expressed his expectation of multi-field communication and cooperation with SEU.
The two sides carried out in-depth discussion and communication about the construction of cooperation between SEU and Cuban universities such as Universidad de La Habana, and encouraging Cuban students to study at SEU as overseas students.
