On May 29 evening, University Students Art Troupe of SEU and PRESTO Band jointly organized a concert in Jiulonghu campus. The audio-visual feast was composed of five classic animated film episodes, eight popular theme songs, four magnificent symphonic suites and a strong lineup of seventy people. The concert was held to celebrate the 114th anniversary of SEU.
The concert interpreted the film music works of Master Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishiin in the form of choral and chamber music, including “Totoro”, “Princess Mononoke”, “spirited away”, etc. Audience in the wonderful audio-visual feast enjoyed the beautiful music and recalled the classics. At the end of the concert, more than 20 members of the choir who are going to graduate and have already graduated sung out their voices of returning to their alma mater often to celebrate her 114th anniversary.
University Students Art Troupe of SEU is composed of students from various schools, which has won the first prize of student art exhibition in the nation and Jiangsu Province for many times. It has hosted more than 20 special concerts and was awarded the title of Jiangsu Province University Students Art Troupe chorus in 2009 by the Jiangsu Education Department. PRESTO is a western music band spontaneously formed by students. The name PRESTO embodies progress, development and perfection pursuit of the band.
