Southeast University – University of Waterloo Joint Workshop Held in SEU

The First Southeast University - University  of Waterloo Joint Workshop” held by School of Electronic Science and Engineering  and School of Transportation of Southeast University was successfully held on  March 22nd - 23rd  in Nanjing. This workshop consisted of  the opening ceremony, academic reports, lab tour and technique discussions, etc.  Professor Jiamao Zheng, Vice president of Southeast University and Doc. Feridun  Hamdullahpur, president of University of Waterloo, delivered the opening remarks  respectively. According to the preponderant disciplines and characteristics of  both universities, the workshop was divided into two tracks: transportation and  civil engineering; electronic engineering and information science. The second  track of this workshop was organized by School of Electronic Science and  Engineering and co-organized by Jiangsu Vacuum Society, IEEE Electronic Device  branch Nanjing chapter. The track included 5 academics reports by professors  from University of Waterloo and 6 reports by professors from Southeast  University. The Waterloo professors also visited the laboratories of the  Pico-Nano Center, Advanced Photonics Center and Display Research center with  facilities and the research achievements. This Joint workshop improved the  understanding and communication between the two universities and can help to  promote the effective cooperation of scientific research and talents cultivation  in the future.
