Southeast University, the first among all universities in Nanjing, held its 2015 Opening Ceremony on the afternoon of September 1st. During the ceremony, President Yi Hong delivered a speech named “Please Stick to Your Choices And Fight for Them”, which appealed to the students very much.
The Opening Ceremony is the first time that the president has made a “face-to-face” communication with all the freshmen, so the content of the speech especially attracted the students. “After the baptism of the college entrance examination, you students present became a part of SEU which made you prides of your teachers and parents. I also unfeignedly cheered for you. Nevertheless, your being admitted to SEU only represents the past, SEUers must stand high and aim far towards a better future. Are you prepared to perform your talents on the stage and become the pillar of the country who can benefit mankind?” At the beginning of the speech, President Yi firstly lauded the students, then led them to further thinking.
“Youth comes only once in a lifetime. Youth now inspires you to fight for your dreams, in the future, you recall the good memories and feel it worthy. Only by striving persistently and devoting to others in the youth can you harvest substantial, warm, lasting and regretless memories.” President Yi encouraged the freshmen to be determined to make a brilliant career.
